Well, at some points, this is very trashy, but I think it was planned that way. Every of the 3 Episodes just takes 8 to 10 Minutes, so even if it isn't something incredibly great, you should find time to watch this, if you like Gundam and watched the first 3 shows (Gundam, Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ) and the Movie 'Chars Counterattack'. While the first episode was just a weird mix up of different scenarios and characters, the 2nd and 3rd episode had something like a "story line". I really liked the 2nd one with the Zeon Hotel. This show manages to feature many characters and insider-jokes injust a short time, so at this point the producers did a pretty good job, even if the rest is relatively average. Still, I enjoyed that show, so give it a try.

this 3 part special is one of 5 that include all of the characters from the main original gundam series. it was part of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack series and was originally aired in movie theaters but was later released on VHS in this special, each episode contains a different plot. the first episode is just a lot of fun fight and action scenes that help intro the characters into the episode. the second episode involves the guys hosting the female characters in different houses for a vacation; the hijinks occur as the guys fight over the attention of the girls. the thirdepisode depicts the gundam olympics where all of the characters participate in various olympic games to see who comes out on top. story (6/10): most specials and shorts like these really dont have much to them in the way of plot partly because they are so short as well as most of them not really adding to the plot of the main series. the plots of each episode were cute and mildly entertaining and even made me chuckle at points. the characters were also broke the 4th wall a lot and were really self aware which i loved. i liked how they really didnt take themselves too series with this project and just had fun with it considering it was sorta promotional for the movie it was released with art & sound (6/10): it wasnt too horrible given the fact that this was produced in the late 80s so they were working with whatever they had. the sound effects were very nostalgic and honestly the chibi art style aged well characters (7/10): they are the same characters and voice actors as the main series so theres nothing new. the chibi style allows them to be/act more like caricatures (which is to be expected from a project that is made light heartedly) the only issue with the special is that they have literally almost every character so not everyone gets their fair share of screen time, which is kinda a bummer considering that in total its 30 minutes of screen time with plots that involve a lot of characters overall (6/10): its cute and its something nice to watch to supplement the franchise!!! its a nice piece of art that is super nostalgic and quirky that, in some aspects, withstands the test of time
