To get this film, it helps to have seen and understood Stanely Kubrick's/Arthur C. Clarke's "2001 A Space Odyssey" 2001 is about the evolution of mankind, and does this in two sages. The first is from apes to men through tools, and the second is from men to glowing star embryo, through growing beyond tools (because, in space, humans are bound to their tools, and Dave only evolves because he manages to grow beyond humanity's best one, HAL). The film gets this point across through hours of no dialogue, symbolic images, and sweeping soundtracks. 2005 is an abbreviated, comedic stab at the Kubrick film, and how hardit is to penetrate the symbolic haze of the movie. We see the evolution of man (jokingly), tool dependence (toilet), and ultimately the higher, albiet indecipherable future life form. It made me laugh, and is good to share with Kubrick fans who "get it," but I fear that its meaning is lost on the general audience.

*Disclaimer* Just personal scratch. Advised, possible spoilers. Opinion & Informal Art: 6/10 Actually colored properly. Detailed enough. Animation: 6/10 Fluid. Wasn't choppy and was a decent display of low-budget, super-short animation and technique. Plot: 4/10 None. Random happenings and weird sounds in the span of a public restroom space.Development: 4/10 None, stupid. Conclusion: 4/10 I don't even understand. Abrupt? Weird? Wait, what? Music: 4/10 None. Sound design and effects were average. There was use of unconventional sound sequences, but that didn't do anything to add any flair or 3-dimensionality. Overall: 4/10 Pointless. A display of animation and technique pretty much.
