With the threat of the Holy Grail War no longer looming over Fuyuki City, its inhabitants can finally enjoy a time of peace. Now that all of the Masters and Servants have adjusted to their new mundane lives, Shirou has taken it upon himself to cook for his household and show Saber the wonders of modern cuisine. Every day, he ventures into the marketplace to see what kind of different meals he can cook up with unique ingredients and a limited budget. However, his legendary skills often attract uninvited guests from all over the city, so there is never a dull moment at dinner with the Emiya family. As his guests entertain themselves in the living room, Shirou walks through the step-by-step process of creating some of his favorite meals. With delicacies such as his savory New Year soba with shrimp tempura, steamy foil-baked salmon, and cheesy bamboo shoot gratin, everything is up for grabs on his menu. Itadakimasu! I am the Apetite of my Diet White Rice is my Body and Soy Sauce is my Blood. I have eaten over a Thousand Dishes, Unknown to Fast Food, Nor known to Gourmet. Have withstood Hunger to enter many Buffets Yet those Hands will never Cook Anything So, as I Pray-- Unlimited Seconds Please I am not the biggest fate/nasuverse/type-moon fan, but there is something that I absolutely adore: the characters. And I adore them to a point that I have actually seen Carnival Phantasm 4 times (so far). That scene where Berserker turns into a car and Illya says "Berser-car" is among the most adorable pieces of art created by man. Iget a coronary every single time. Naturally, when I heard Fate would be getting another show that has nothing to do with the main plot line, I was beyond thrilled, and now that I have seen it offer a scene where Illya wishes Berserker Merry Christmas after giving him a self-baked Christmas cookie that looks like him, I can only say that I will, most likely, never in my life giggle like this again. Perfection. The first half of this show is a bit problematic. Let me describe it with a meme: "You either go all the way or you go home. I am not dealing with this." And I am not. This isn't proper fanservice, this is just fanservice undertones, and the real content (cooking, other food related thingies, sol nonsense and... just being there) isn't strong enough. But then the show starts going for better and pleases all my needs for cute, comfy and fluffy things. The series becomes incredibly funny and adorable after the 6th episode. The remaining episodes all are rather different from each others and they all have something unique to offer. For example, the beginning of episode 7 shows us a beach volleyball game that is... a bit overboard. Episode 09 contains one of the best background animation sequences where Saber is trying to refrain from eating her food. The way she shakes among the facial expression burned in my soul. The 12th is incredibly comforting, almost soothing to watch with its atmosphere and level of cute. It's almost hard to believe how enjoyable the show end up being after its weaker start. The art and overall production is quite lacklustery. Especially the animation can be surprisingly mediocre, but it's not a big problem in a series of this sort. The music on the other hand can be real weird at times. Strange OST choices, the Op and Ed songs are quite awful to a point that they stand out. Some better decisions from the BGM department could have been done for certain. I still easily prefer Carnival Phantasm over this series, but I highly recommend it for those who like the cast and warm, wholesome thingies. Seeing type-moon characters act like clowns truly offers something that no other cast seems to have because even when the series is this comedic the character traits remain and their behavior never quite feels out of character.

“Refill please!” - Saber 🥇 9/10 Take a break from the Holy Grail War and let’s relax in such a heartwarming cooking show, Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family. This show is bringing characters you love from Fate/Stay Night, then portray them in a totally new aspect. If watching Fate/Stay Night is like having a main dish, then this show would be a dessert. 🎬 Story - 7/10 Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is a show about cooking. While the story itself contains nothing extraordinary, it is rather focused on characters and filled with many heartwarming moments. 🎨 Animation - 8/10 Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family came with anabove-standard animation quality, having a watercolor art style, unlike the usual ufotable Fate’s one. The art style gives off a very relaxing vibe, building up the overall relaxing mood and tone of the anime. The art style itself is not very common, making it unique. By having this art style, characters are also giving off a totally different feeling, becoming friendlier and cuter. Most importantly, it is very eye-friendly and easy to watch. 🔈 Sound - 8/10 Everything here in Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is relaxing. Theme songs are good, suiting the mood and tone of the anime. Soundtracks are surprisingly good, calm and relaxing. 🕶 Characters - 9/10 Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is having the characters you love from Fate/Stay Night in a friendly and cute mode, allowing audiences to see them in another aspect. You will get to see Saber’s sweetest and cutest side, ever. 🎉 Enjoyment - 9/10 As a Fate fan, Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family totally enjoyed me. The mood and tone is perfect, everything fits together. Having such nice animation and relaxing sounds with characters I love could not enjoy me more! 📌 Recommendations Since Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is a show that relies on its main show, not an independent anime, characters introductions are not included, Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works completion is highly recommended before watching this show. Lastly, if you love Fate/Stay Night characters, I am pretty sure you will love this anime. Enjoy!
