"The Bandai Channel website announced that Petit Eva ~Evangelion@School~, the "first official super-deformed series" based on Neon Genesis Evangelion, will be adapted for video. The official announcement will be made in the September issue (on sale August 10) of Newtype magazine in Japan. The Gainax/Khara franchise spinoff spoofs the psychological science fiction drama by reimagining the characters as classmates in Tokyo-3's Nerv School, headed by Principal Gendō Ikari and Misato-sensei. The student body includes three different Rei "sisters," the EVA-01 mobile weapon reimagined as the school bully Evanchō, and the ill-fated Jet Alone robot as JA-ko, a "hidden character" in the form of a shy android girl. Ryuusuke Hamamoto created the character designs which has inspired four-panel gag manga serializations in four different magazines: Monthly Shōnen Ace, Newtype, Dengeki Hobby Magazine, and Figure Oh. The Petit Eva project has also developed merchandising from super-deformed figurines to limited edition Doritos corn chips." (Source: MoonPhase)

Overview: NOPE!!!! NOPE!!! NOPE!!!! NOOOO!!!! OH GOD WHY!!? If you ever wanted absolute, definitive proof that Gainax doesn't give a FUCK about their devoted Eva fandom, look no further than this claymation abortion that Gainax actually slapped their approval on. In TV, Movies, or literature I have never seen such a complete disconnect between fans that worship something as an absolute artistic masterpiece, and creators who have such open disdain for their own fans. 12 year old wannabe elitist on MAL and 4chan: "You guys, Eva is the DEEPEST animu EVERRR! Not only is Anno the greatest psychological writer since Shakespeare and Dostoevsky, he is the greatest streamof consciousness writer since Joyce and Woolf, and the greatest Avant Garde, symbolic filmmaker since Tarkovsky and Bergman! When literary historians look back at the 20th century achievements in art and literature, they aren't going to mention Ulysses or The Stranger, or The Master and Margarita, or As I Lay Dying...they are going to be talking about Neon Genesis Evangelion baby! You retarded n00b faggots can watch your Naruto and your Elfen Lied and your Cowboy Bebop. We are watching ART for the ages here!!!" Anno and Gainax: "What's that? You want to make a shitty, unfunny, slapstick claymation version of what is a sacred cow for hundreds of thousands of geeks? Go for it! We don't give a fuck! Just take Eva and rape it into oblivion! We honestly couldn't care less, because fuck our fans!" Each "episode" if you could even call it that is about 2 minutes of a single unfunny joke with Mr. Bill quality claymation figures of the Eva characters. If I was a rabid Eva fan, I don't know how I could watch this and not have my head explode from seeing my sacred baby get sodomized like this. Fortunately, those of us that are true culture snobs don't have this problem. We don't have to worry about Tolstoy selling the rights to his novels so that some escaped mental patients can make claymation SHIT humor versions of them. Petit Eva school almost made me feel bad for the insufferable Eva fanboys...almost.

I never suspected myself to rate something with 1's across the board. I don't even have to get into detail. The biggest question is: Who is this for? A child could watch it, but then they'd be interested in NGE, and I don't think a child should watch NGE. So, in that respect, it's inappropriate to introduce a child to this ONA. And, since it's not appropriate for children, it's easy to see how this definitely isn't for adults. I mean, it's just bad. Not even going to break down each category. Just trust my 1-rating for each category and avoid this. ((If you liked this review, checkout my other reviews by going to my profile and clicking the 'reviews' tab.
