Quite hilarious, if bit old fashioned comedy. It made me laugh out loud several times. And heroine was interesting. References to old classic anime were many and just made it more enjoyable, as they were well done.

Cosmos Pink Shock is a 35-minute OVA about a young, rebellious girl Micchi traversing the galaxy at high speeds and a fan club of admirers she amasses by the end of it. We see robot baseball games and intergalactic wars interrupted by her little pink ship bursting straight through them. The universe calls this infamous ship the "Pink Shock" although its real name is "The Whole Galaxy is Stupid." Being a short OVA, it'd be foolish to grade it based the complexity of its plot which is very straight-forward. Micchi crash lands on a planet and has to escape to continue her search for her belovedHiro-chan. There is some good music, apparently by the God-like composer Kenji Kawai and some exaggerated Yoshinori Kanada-inspired animation. Micchi's light-speed quest through the galaxy in her comfy cockpit filled with stuffed animals encapsulates the rebellious spirit of Showa-era anime. If you like short, self-aware anime like Daicon IV and Blazing Transfer Student, you should definitely give this a watch. Unfortunately at this time there are no high-quality copies.
