An average boy named Norio is suddenly getting a lot of unwanted romantic attention. A fall down the stairs into the arms of a handsome stranger sets off the beginnings of an explanation, and it is one Norio never could have possibly imagined. Soon a whole new world opens up for Norio revealing a secret society of special people evolved from animals other than monkeys. Norio turns out to be a particularly rare breed and his DNA is in high demand. Now that he's suddenly the prey, it'll take much effort to survive in this modern jungle. This story revolves around a high school boy who discovers that he is part of a select group of humans who did not evolve from monkeys, but various animals such as leopards and black bears. It was hard to rate this one because I liked the concept but not the result. And there's a list of reasons why, and I'm going to be blunt. The story had little depth. The emotions portraryed were often uneven or strange and made gay or bi guys seem to be dumb whether they were complete "bags", silly or gutless or that it is necessary to apologize for loving someone of your own gender or its a mistake. The backgrounds of the characters were too brief. Conversely, when they do give some background, such as in the case of Madarame, the reptile guy, what they didtell was so mixed: sometimes sensitive, sometimes a total ass...made no sense (even though, yes I did get the madadurai/non-madadurai aspect) . Or he's abusive to others, the so-called tough guy, then he gets punked out and embarrassed himself and does nothing! I could understand some shaky parts, as far as story goes, but it it too uneven too often throughout. Yes, this is BL for those who can't have gay sex (m/m) themselves or don't really know about it or who don't care that it is even passably accurate in any way. Foreplay is a definition that should be reserved for hetero sex. Generally we don't need foreplay to want to do the deed. We can get it done and then do it again (especially at the characters ages), so the lamenting of "wait for me next time" is completely stupid and doesn't apply. That being said, I could get the comical aspects of some of the "sex scenes" but I entirely get tired of yaoi that tiresomely puts forth a guy will only have sex with another if they are raped, and that they like or accept it as normal somewhat or afterwards. And if it wasn't that, the scenes were boring. Shiro, the regular human, was especially boring to me though I liked the cat spirited guy out of all of them all, Norio. I could see where the idea of the storyline might be intriguingly different but so many ideas or suggestions was too sketchy, moving so quickly point to point: sex, conversations, confrontations: almost total incoherence. Most of the time I was asking myself, why characters were saying or doing a certain thing, because it made no sense! I didn't understand why it had this title either. A few laughs and cute moments provided by Norio, but as some others have had, nothing special and the frequent misrepresentations of gay love and relationships is totally unacceptable. Many bad messages, and hope no one believes that how gay love is or that its normal like these poor examples. Sex Pistols could have been so much more but was just too flawed in my opinion.

Review of the Sex Pistols OVA Okay first of all I watched this without reading the manga, like everyone suggests doing, and I understood it alright without knowing about the animal spirits at first. You have to watch all the way through to get an understanding of it. If you've never watched a yaoi anime I suggest trying out something mainstream first. I really liked this and I would gladly re-watch it. This yaoi has females to help with the plot and story! I'm very glad the writers included women because they are usually forgotten in yaoi Story 6 I wish they would've explained what was going on with the animalspirits because when Norio suddenly turned into a cat I was very confused. As the story goes on you are able to pick up on what's happening. The main couple don't have a dramatic sex scene, unlike most yaoi, however I think that the romances throughout the other couples made up for it. Art 9 No big yaoi hands! The anatomy is closer to an actual human's in the anime so I enjoyed that. The colors they used really helped pull the story together. I thought it was adorable that the second opening was a chibi version of the first. Over all pretty good but not perfect. I like the way the boys and girls were drawn, both genders were very attractive and sexy. Sound 9 I had no problem with it considering that I watched it on YouTube. I think that they picked great voice actors for the characters. Music was alright not breathtaking, but hey... it's just an OVA. Character 7 The characters were very two-demensional, and I feel that Yonekuni and Shiro should have grown up a little bit. Yonekuni on sudden whim changed his mind and it was actually kind of confusing? The character design was nice and they drew them based on animals, so the size and hair color varies. The characters were easy to tell apart and were unique. Enjoyment 9 This was really fun to watch, it was my first yaoi OVA so it was a nice switch from a series. I'm the kind of person who has to be hooked on the first episode so having the plot all take place in one sitting was nice. I would definitely re-watch this. Overall 8 I enjoyed the characters and the art, the overall OVA is a nice break from yaoi series. It doesn't matter if you've read the manga or not - as long as you watch from beginning to end you'll understand it. The comedy and romance is awesome. I just loved this story and it will definetly
