“Sekai Douwa Anime Zenshuu” is a 10-episode series of fairy tales which was originally sold as a box set either in 1986 or 1990 (sources vary on this). Each episode had an English dub and sub version, and came with a corresponding cassette tape and booklet with the script in both Japanese and English, as well as coloring book pictures. The idea was for this series to be used as English educational material for kids. I watched the Japanese version (with English subs), and while it’s nothing groundbreaking in any respect, it’s still decent if you consider it as a primer on some classic fairy tales,or a “Fairy Tales 101” of sorts. Each episode is roughly 10 minutes long and features a different story. Most of the stories are included in Grimms’ Fairy Tales, but there are a couple of non-Grimms’ ones as well, namely “Little Black Sambo” and “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.” Some of the stories progress rather strangely, and have considerable leaps in logic in them. However, when I researched the original tales, I found them to be very similar, so bizarre as some of these stories may be, they are relatively faithful to the traditional versions. The animation and voice acting are consistent throughout the series. They’re nothing special, but they get the job done. There isn’t really any music other than the background music (which isn’t memorable), or the bonus “ABC Song” video, which is just the ABC Song, which is okay but doesn’t leave much of an impression. Although this is made for kids, there are some potentially troublesome instances in most of the stories (although I wouldn’t go as far as saying explicit). Of note is the inclusion of “Little Black Sambo,” which is considered a controversial tale due to how it visually depicts Africans. There is also an odd scene in “Snow White” where the prince, coming across Snow White and thinking that she’s dead, lifts her body out of the casket to kiss her. Some of the lessons the tales espouse are questionable (like in “Puss in Boots,” where the moral seems to be “lying to everyone will bring you success in life”). There are also scenes where death and suicide are portrayed positively. Overall, I’m not sure if “Sekai Douwa Anime Zenshuu” is particularly effective at its original purpose of helping kids learn English, but it’s certainly a good introduction to various fairy tales, since the stories are similar to the originals. It’s visually and aurally average, and there are strange scenes and questionable morals promoted in some of the tales, but on the whole it’s not bad. Recommended if you’re interested in learning about fairy tales.

So the series like Sekai Douwa Anime Zenshu a 10 episode series is that this was recognized in english by Saban productions as My Favorite Fairy Tales is that this has brought me back to my nostalgic childhood memories from the past which is holding a very special place in my heart back in my childhood days which i used to have My Favorite Fairy Tales vol 2 VHS back in the day but i don't have the tape i might have lost it or it might got damaged i missed watching it but i still remember to this day Story: Well most of the storiesin MY Favorite Fairy Tales have different type of Fairy Tale stories for example The Ugly Duckling and The Little Mermaid is the only Hans Christian Anderson story in the series as for other ones like Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf and the Seven Kids are the german fairy tale stories by The Grimm brothers from the collection of The Brothers Grimm Fairy tales for this particular series in general for the most part come to think of it Little Black Sambo is the only story by Helen Bannerman most of these stories have been adapted into episodes. Music In the original japanese version of My Favorite Fairy Tales it was originally composed by Masahito Maruyama for the original Japanese dub version of the original anime but for the english dub version was composed by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy for the incidental music that was later used in Saban English dub of Grimm Masterpiece Theatre. Characters Well the opportunity of the characters is part of them in general is that some of them with anthropomorphic characters such as the episodes like The Three Little Pigs, The Wolf and the Seven Kids especially in general that to led to the degree for the most point. Animation Well for the animation it was originally done by the anime studio company Studio Unicorn that worked on California Crisis Gun salvo and other work. Overall This series has only lasted 10 episodes if this could have reached to a new level opportunity for this. My thoughts When i looked back to my memories of my childhood days back in the early 2000s is that i used to have My Favorite Fairy Tales vol 2 VHS which i remember i had this on VHS back in the day it was particularly my biggest introduction to Japanese anime i realized that this series was only released on VHS by Hi Tops video and later by Video Treasures which i remember and despite that this series was never aired on television in America but it was only on VHS although it was later aired on Italia 1 in Italy in 1996 during the mid 90s i remember the catchy theme song to the english theme song of My Favorite Fairy Tales with the lyrics like *These are your Favorite Fairy Tales where all the dreams come Yeah Yeah yeah come join the fun inside the fairy tale world 🎶* this song is only in the english dub by Saban for the english dub of the original anime but there is a Japanese DVD set in region 2 but it was released exclusively in Japan only but when it was first released on VHS in the US it had 5 volumes with different stories from another anime series from the 1975 Toei animation called World famous fairy tale series which is very interesting because this is the perfect example of how it's a good thing for very interesting feeling for these parts which i wanted to come across for this to think of it i had the most vivid childhood memory i remember coming home from school so i had to watch my vhs copy of My Favorite Fairy Tales vol 2 over and over again it was the best moments of my memories which it takes me back to my nostalgia lane come to have a memory to remember. Score 10/10 And so My Favorite Fairy Tales is one of the nostalgia childhood anime i had ever think to remember.
